It's Your Attitude

 I feel like I have direction, purpose, and the Lord's blessing.

I'm a human. I'm a goal driven, first born, need-to-work-towards-something person. Give me something to do and tell me how to do the first part, I will figure it out and do my very best. It's just engrained into me.

Last week, my college pastor, Paul, was talking about Luke. We've been going through Luke for a while now and it's definitely one of my favorite books of the Bible.
We were reading in chapter 5. I love this passage anyways because of one verse in particular.

"Simon answered, "Master, we've worked hard all night and haven't caught anything. But because you say so, I will let down the nets.""
Luke 5:5

That phrase means - even though I don't understand and it makes no sense at all, I will follow. That is a powerful phrase. That also is letting Jesus have complete control. I know very few people who would respond with that phrase right away. Most of the time, we are afraid of what God is telling us to do. We don't know the right steps. And even when we know what the right thing to do is, we doubt because we don't see how it will work.

Simon Peter doubted Jesus. He was afraid, but he did it anyways. When he saw how much fish he caught, he told Jesus to go away from him because he was a sinful man. Then Jesus did something, that blows my mind, every single time

Then Jesus said to Simon,
"Do not be afraid;
 from now on,
you will be fishers of men."

It's not our story that we're living in, it's God's story.

Do you have that attitude of...

I will do WHATEVER it takes to get to Jesus.

That's what I want. I want that attitude all the time. But I can't get to it on my own. It's only through Christ.
